Food was amazing, clean bathrooms and the waitress was very friendly and did a good job. I just wish that management team could help her out more during busy times, like lunch time, so people can go back to work on time and talk about their positive experiences (in a timely manner). I only noticed a lunch menu after I had already ordered my food, and kind of wished I knew about it before. Other than that, beautiful restaurant and great food. The chocolate baskets were a nice touch!

The food was amazing, some of the best in Fredericton in my mind.Unfortunately we had to wait 40 minutes after eating to get our bill and a to-go box, and after we had waited for 30 minutes I went to the counter and asked for our bill and it still took another 10 minutes after I asked another staff.Food is really great though I would definitely recommend it just go when you have lots of time.

Great food! Great staff! The complimentary lentil soup and flour chips were perfect along with the main dish.My second time today at this restaurant. Had Fish Mandi. 2 pieces of fish with biriyani like rice and salad. Tasted awesome. I asked for a substitute for the hot sauce and the host provided me with garlic and hot sauces and hummus.

The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering starters. They were exquisite. The main course consisted of the most famous and delicious dishes from Egyptian cousin. It all was followed by a delicious dessert , overall, I loved the place , I will visit it as much as I can ,

Food was tasty, ambience was nice but I am not sure about the cleanliness as the complimentary lentil soup that we got had stain outside of the bowl. Spoon also didn't look cleaned enough to go out of the kitchen.

Food wasn't anything special, but the service was brutal! Sat down on the patio, it took 20 minutes for them to pick up the dirty dishes on our table from the previous customer (needed to ask them to). Food took over an hour and it wasn't packed whatsoever. Also, they don't have a liquor license and they are located downtown? Just strange. Shame because it's a very nice looking restaurant in one of the most prime locations in Freddy.

The food was okay, but unfortunately the service was not. We came in when the restaurant was empty, and the service was still incredibly slow. Everyone's food arrived after a long wait, and my food did not arrive until everyone had finished eating. I ended up just taking it home to go. We ordered hummus as an appetizer and they brought us just that: a bowl of hummus with nothing to dip in it. We asked for bread at least 3 times and never got any. My sister's chicken was raw. We then asked several times for our bill and the waitress kept coming back to ask if we needed anything... yes. Our bill. They offered us free juice to make up for the wait but at that point we just wanted to leave. I wouldn't come back or recommend it.

The food was amazing, the portions were generous, and the service was quick and friendly! I ordered the Shish tawouk as a main and veggie/meat samosas as an app, and I was impressed by how tasty everything was! I'd highly recommend this spot to anyone! :)

Amazing Mediterranean food! If you're looking for something new and delicious, you will not be disappointed with the Sphinx in Fredericton. I ordered the Mixed Grill. The rice had a slight curry spice with a little sweetness. Absolutely delicious. I recommend the mint lemon cocktail to compliment your main dish. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. One of my new favourite spots in Fredericton.

I ordered from here on Skip. It was my first time ordering and very disappointing. I did not get the baklava I ordered and was sent Kinafe instead. I tried a bite but was not a fan. The shawarma didn’t taste very authentic. The chicken was not made with chicken cooked on vertical rotisserie which is usually used for shawarma and didn’t seem to have much flavour. I am giving 3 stars because mistakes do happen and I’m sure there are other delicious dishes but I wouldn’t recommend the chicken shawarma.

Great food and portions were surprisingly big. Prices were fair. Servers could use a bit more training/experience.

Delicious. Everything I had burst with the flavours that only this type of food can provide. So many amazing spices added to everything. I had their lentil soup with crispy pita chips because it was free with my main. As soon as you opened the cover, the smell just hit you and you instantly in the best way possible. After that, I had the Kebaba Mandi with their special blend of spices which added a nice addition of flavour and spiciness. It was much more complex in its flavour profiles than your average dish. The tastes and smells brought me right back to my times in Dubai and Doha.

Excellent service, delicious Egyptian & Mediterranean cuisine at below average prices! Nice modern decor and interior. My recommendation to improve the client experience would be to change the music, pop music feels out of touch. I believe in such an authentic restaurant we'd like to feel that we travelled in space to East Mediterranean region, oriental music is missing ex. Elias Rahbani, Omar Khairat, etc.Also please add a changing table for babies.

I tried it yesterday with my family and It was amazing. Food is very tasty, friendly staff, very reasonable prices.The owner was taking care of all details by himself? Which helped a lot to make every thing perfect.

Sphinx is a high quality Mediterranean/Middle Eastern resto. As a transplant from downtown Toronto, I’ve been longing for a quick and quality place to grab a falafel. Sphinx isn’t exactly that. However, it is a sit-down version of what I’ve been after. Sphinx is a much needed addition to downtown Fredericton’s food scene. Well worth a visit!

You can enjoy halal food. I ate a chicken dish which the server had recommended with Turkish coffee. Two thumbs up!

In a nutshell it is More than amazing experience. Sphinx atmosphere is relaxing and the special soft music there makes you feel happy without even you notice. Owners are friendly, welcoming and always smiling. My order was chicken shawarma fatta, Oh, it is above yummy, eye catching look, perfect mix of ingredients, when you taste your meal you will come with an impression that an expert chef with 30+ years of experience has made that dish specially for you. I will repeat this experience many more times, i really loved the place and food. 😊I do recommend that restaurant, it has a special charm 😉if you want to be happy go to Sphinx.

Never miss this place . Bang on for flavour, quantity and value. Ordered just the main course , it comes with free soup , bowl of amazing salad and rice and kebab. Loved it...yummmmmmmmm

Ordered a mix grill and was more than excellent.A thank you for the chef responsible for the mandi rice. I am a rice lover, and actually never tasted a more tasty rice than this.Absolutely appetizing. A 5 star experience.

my friend and I had dinner there last night....absolutely fabulous....our meal was out of this world, so flavorful delicious....so hard to chose what to have as everything on the menu look so good. we were not disappointed in our meal, ate ever single bit of it...service was super, our server waa fantastic...show us some of the dishes on his ipad...definitely be back again, again and again

The food is always fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. The staff are very friendly, always smiling and very nice.We highly recommend it. I have never liked eating outside, but Sphinx changed my mind.

I ordered the chicken shawarma and took it to go, i have never been so disappointed. there were more french fries in this wrap than chicken. i could of ordered a 4 piece nugget meal from mcdonalds and gotten the same amount of fries and more meat. i will not be going back. This was a 9.99 wrap that felt like a 1.99 taco bell purchase

*EDIT* The owner contacted us personally to offer a refund and a voucher. We will absolutely give Sphinx another try in the future and will review again, but this alone showed us that the owner truly cares about his patrons. Most disappointing take out order I've ever had in Fredericton. Everything seemed old other than my husbands kafta. My samosa was supposed to be veggie and it was cheese (mozza) and a couple of green olives. The fries in my child's order seemed to be only thawed out, not cooked. All the lettuce in the chicken burger was brown and the patty was hard, cold and dry. My Kibbe had zero spices and the outer layer was raw. I'd give this a zero if I could.

Cook ok, but the Turkish coffee is amazing! Go for the coffee, it's worth a visit.

Located in the heart of Fredericton city just near the bank of beautiful Saint John River. Beautifully decorated and spacious dining area that could comfortably fit your entire family. All the halal foods are available here including beef and chicken. The complementary soup was really good as well as the beef kabab. I would suggest if anyone would like to test halal and a bit middle east type recipes then obviously you shouldn't miss this place.

Tried it tonight as part of its soft opening and the food was excellent. The decor in the restaurant is also very nice and the authentic music adds to the ambience. We will definitely come back.

The staff here were very friendly and accommodating. We had come in from a long road trip and they warmly welcomed us in and did not hurry us out. The food here is delicious. Some of the best kebabs we've had so far. The restaurant itself is well furnished and the detailing are beautiful.

Food was amazing! I had the chicken mandi, lentil soup and samosas. Everything was delicious. The service was exemplary! I really loved this place and highly recommend it!

Very good quality food. Price are fair for what you get, Staff is very friendly and the owner take the time to come and see you at your table if you satified was kindly. I'm realy not and hummus fan but i just loved it over there. The only suggestion that i would do it's to have good wine card to pair with there delicious food. Honestly, you have to try this place

A delicious Egyptian meal in a lovely atmosphere with kind servers to guide you through the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the flavours - so good - and look forward to our next visit!
